To YWAM LA I left for YWAM LA Friday Sept 28th from YVR. After finally waiting for my invite letter so just in case I needed it to go through customs just in case. I had an interesting time going through Immigration, I got swabbed down, then my shampoo, toothpaste, and shower gel were oddly confiscated because they were too big. Nonetheless I was allowed to go through to customs. (unfortunately it's not a great idea to take pictures going through immigration or customs....dang it ;p) Any how I ended up needing that invite letter. Wow does God ever work his timing perfectly :)
This is the last view of British Columbia I get to see until maybe mid December depending on the doors of opportunity that do open up here in LA.
This is the view I got from the plane at 37,000 feet in the air. The view on top of the clouds is so absolutely breath-taking I couldn't stop staring out the window.
looking at this view I thought I was flying over snow on a beautiful sunny day. Then I realized after a 20 min. nap that I was still on the plane :) I had an amazing 2 hour flight.
This was the view from the plane as we arrived in Burbank, California at the Bob Hope Airport. What an amazing view of the local hills or Mountains as they call them here in Cali.
I have met so many amazing people thus far and have had such an amazing time. God has been moving and breakthroughs are happening. The DTS students and experiencing the freedom they have never had in their lives before. The SLAM students and CSBS students are so full of wisdom and insight. I love the openness that everyone is willing to be open and share the struggles that they are going through and now one here is afraid to pray for another or in front of large group (that is one of the breakthroughs I have personally experienced). This community of brothers and sisters with a passion for LA and the nations as well as for one another is just absolutely is just amazing, encouraging, loving, compassionate, . I have experienced such amazing breakthroughs myself. Meeting so many new people and learning about so many different cultures as well as the different walks of life that the staff and students come from. We are all here with one focus to know God and make Him known. I really can't wait to see what God has in-store for me and everyone here as well. It has been an amazing week and I can't wait to see what the Holy Spirit does through all of us.
Love and miss you all, serving for His glory,
Joshua

You packed you shampoo, toothpaste and shower gel into your carry-on???? That's a big no-no. Especially if they're that size. I thought you would have put them into your suitcase. *sigh* Oh well, now you know. Good thing you printed that letter. :) YAY!!! For making it.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see and hear what's been going on with you since you arrived there. It's awesome!!! Keep on updating us. :) It's very encouraging!! God Bless.
